Sense of Sound Singers
What an incredible year of performances Sense of Sound Singers has had this year. From featuring in the BBC’s specially arranged Wolf Hall international buyers’ conference at the spectacular Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, to guesting at Liverpool International Music Festival as part of the commissioned gig, Herstory concert and appearing as the featured choir at the England/Uruguay game as part of this year’s Rugby World Cup it has been a non stop series of amazing events. The choir continues to go from strength to strength. Another major highlight was the charity concert at Liverpool Echo Arena in support of the Syrian refugee crisis. The concert, From Liverpool with Love which was hosted by comedian John Bishop and BBC Radio 1 DJ, Janice Long raised £40k and Sense of Sound Singers along with many other bands including OMD, Mic Lowry, The Farm, The Christians and Space performed a powerful a cappella set.
In celebration of all things a cappella, the choir will be hosting a special Christmas concert at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool on Friday 11th December. The concert will showcase a combination of contemporary soul, RnB, jazz and folk influenced material alongside some festive offerings performed in their own unique style under the musical direction of Perri Alleyne-Hughes. There will also be a guest appearance by the spoken word artist/rapper, Curtis Watt.
