HUG – Verity Standen
7 April, 6.45pm, 7.30pm and 8.15pm

“Song erupts around you in what is described as a choral sound-bath. It’s startling, moving and genuinely immersive” Lyn Gardner, The Guardian

Unable to visually gauge their surroundings, participants experience the performance through sound, breath and vibrations of the body as a choir of voices deliver the song. Playing with sense and perspective, HUG is a unique examination of the human voice’s power. Presented by Derelict and Word of Warning and supported by UCLan.

HUG is currently touring the UK and internationally following critically acclaimed performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Southbank Centre, London. For Manchester and Preston it brings together a brand new ensemble of local voices for three days only.  Sense of Sound’s Jennifer john will be joining the tour for the Manchester and Preston performances.

Free, booking essential. Tickets available here
