More Music presents The Long Walk
The Long Walk is an inspiring musical journey in response to the Morecambe Bay tragedy of 2004. This new work is by Pete Moser and Lemn Sissay and has been commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company Limited as part of the 2008 European Capital of Culture Programme.
Created over 6 months the LONG WALK is a musical exploration that celebrates many voices and many sounds. Local musicians will play with inspiring U.K. Chinese musicians Seaming To (vocals), Sun Zhuo (guzheng), Semay Wu (cello) and flute soloist Guo Yue. Design by Paul Kondras with photographic images by Dinu Liu and shadow imagery by Shane Johnstone.
The Long Walk has been created in Liverpool through partnerships with Sense of Sound, Beatlife, Nugent Education, Frakture, Hope University and the RLPO Music for Life project.
The performances take place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th March 2008 at The Great Hall, Cornerstone, Haigh Street, Liverpool.
Tickets are £10/£5 from the Philharmonic Hall on 0151 709 3789.
